Not Medical Advice
Hema is an informational and educational tool. The information provided by Hema — including biomarker interpretations, health scores, and personalized protocols — is NOT medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
No Doctor-Patient Relationship
Using Hema does not create a doctor-patient relationship, physician-patient relationship, or any other healthcare provider relationship. [HEMA LLC] is not a healthcare provider. We do not practice medicine, provide medical diagnoses, or prescribe treatments.
Reference Ranges
The reference ranges used by Hema are averaged from multiple clinical sources, including Cleveland Clinic, Mayo Clinic, LabCorp, and NIH guidelines.
These ranges may differ from the specific reference ranges used by your laboratory. Laboratory reference ranges can vary based on testing methodology, equipment, and population-specific calibration. Always review your results in the context of the ranges provided by your specific laboratory and discuss any discrepancies with your healthcare provider.
AI Limitations
Hema's interpretations are generated by artificial intelligence (Claude, developed by Anthropic). While the AI is grounded in a curated knowledge base of clinical guidelines, it has inherent limitations:
- The AI does not know your complete medical history
- The AI cannot perform a physical examination
- The AI cannot account for medications, conditions, or circumstances you have not disclosed
- AI-generated content may occasionally contain errors or omissions
- The AI cannot replace the clinical judgment of a qualified healthcare provider
Emergency Situations
If you believe you are experiencing a medical emergency, CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY or go to your nearest emergency room.
Do not rely on Hema for emergency medical guidance. Hema is not designed for urgent or emergency care and cannot provide real-time medical assistance.
Specific Limitations
Please be aware of the following specific limitations of the Hema platform:
- Sex-Specific Biomarkers: Testosterone and estradiol interpretations require your biological sex to provide accurate reference ranges. Results may be inaccurate if sex is not provided or is incorrect.
- Cardiovascular Risk Scores: The ASCVD (10-year cardiovascular disease risk) calculation uses the 2013 ACC/AHA Pooled Cohort Equations, which are validated for individuals aged 40-79 only. Risk scores for individuals outside this age range should be interpreted with caution.
- Context Matters: Blood test results should always be interpreted in the context of your symptoms, clinical history, medications, and other relevant factors that Hema may not have access to.
- Single Snapshot: A single blood test represents one point in time. Trends over multiple tests are often more meaningful than any single result.
Always Consult a Healthcare Provider
Before making any changes to your:
- Medications
- Supplements
- Diet
- Exercise routine
Consult a qualified healthcare provider. Hema's protocols and recommendations are general guidelines and may not be appropriate for your specific health situation.
